Mahesh Savani :The man who showed how to salute martyrs

           It has been three days Uri attack took place. It left everyone in tears as Mother India lost 18 of it’s brave soldiers fighting the terrorists. All over the nation, people expressed condolences and took candle light marches. But one businessman, Mahesh Savani in Surat thought otherwise. He believed more in actions and he announced that he would sponsor education and other expenses for all kids of 18 soldiers who became martyrs.

Mahesh Savani, social activists and philanthropist , also owner of PP Savan group which is into real estate business and runs a chain of schools announced that he would come forward for meeting expenses of all those kids.

Talking with TOI, Mahesh Savani said, “I saw a girl of our Indian soldier crying on the television saying that her father had told her to study hard and become successful. At that very moment, I decided to sponsor the children of the martyrs killed in Uri attack.” He also promised to meet all other expenses including accommodation facilities until the kids of soliders who laid their lives grow up.

Mahesh Savani is a very popular philanthropist and has been conducting marriages of father less girls since 2007. He organised 472 marriages till date and for every girl getting married, he would gift gold, silver ornaments worth 3-4 Lakhs.

He is a foster father to all those girls and His relationship with his adopted daughters doesn’t end with the wedding either: “Mahesh papa is just a message away when we need him,” says Hina Kathiriya, one of Savani’s adopted daughters.

 “Mahesh papa is more than a father to me. I wish every girl in the world gets a father like him.” says Naheda Banu, who lost her father when she was a child.

The Positive India salutes this Mahesh Savani’s gesture and hope many such people come forward.
